Our Journey in Textile Heritage

From documenting ancient patterns to teaching new generations, we've been preserving Baltic textile traditions for over a decade.

2013

Foundation and Research

We began documenting cimdu raksti patterns from museum archives and local artisans across Latvia. Each pattern tells a story — symbols for protection, fertility, prosperity.

2017

First Workshop Series

We launched beginner knitting workshops in Sigulda using local wool. Started small with 12 participants. Now we train over 200 people annually across both locations.

2021

Expanded to Cēsis

Added a second location in Cēsis to reach more of the Gauja Valley region. Introduced crochet basics alongside traditional knitting techniques.

2026

Digital Archive Launch

We've created an extensive digital resource documenting 300+ traditional patterns with regional variations, symbolism, and step-by-step tutorials.

What You'll Learn

Our structured approach covers everything from your first loop to completing authentic Latvian designs.

Pattern Symbolism

Understand what each motif represents — from the cross symbol meaning protection to geometric designs representing fertility and prosperity in Baltic traditions.

Foundational Techniques

We start with the absolute basics. Casting on, basic stitches, tension control. Most people feel confident within the first three sessions.

Local Wool Selection

We source wool from regional producers. You'll learn how different weights affect your projects and why local materials matter for authentic results.

Crochet Fundamentals

Crochet is actually more forgiving than knitting. Single crochet, double crochet, and how to read patterns — we cover it all without the frustration.
